Getting the tools out to create a new patio or a graphic design using Illustrator keeps us very busy. Looking through our photos, I believe we are blessed with a supportive family, a good work ethic, and the creative skills that make our lives more interesting and sweet. Some sarcasm is fun too. Today, I posted a few of my FAVORITE photos from 2017 to now. It was hard to just choose a few. Follow me on Instagram to see more.

I hope to share smiles, fun and photos with you in the future! The new plan is to create a new WordPress site where I can share more of the process of my artwork and textile designs with a professional.com site.
I would like to stay in touch. Follow this blog MeyerClarkStudio and Instagram and Facebook and my textile designs at ClarkyWorks.

This post is about my creative process.
Away from technology, experiencing life through the lens of my camera, is my favorite place to be. Whether it’s a pink reflection on the lake, or orange flower petals reaching for the light, I’m in my happy place. yessssss.

I didn’t know the shape of this succulent plant would be so intoxicating.
I was drawing the angular shaped flowers in my sketch book — when I decided to go to the computer and start a textile design — my next favorite place to be. My heart was beating faster. I used the B&W version for reference to draw an idea in Illustrator.

I am a part of a busy team of ladies on Etsy. Once a month, we create a photo collage for each other to help promote our handcrafted items. Our name is SPS, or Strategic Promotion for Success. We are women from across the planet, and even though most of us have never met, we have become online friends. The collage I made below, is a segment of our tight-knit group.
This is a new design with a Native American style inspiration. To visit my Etsy shop, click on the photos of my seed bead bracelets below.

I Hope you valentines day is lovely!
Taking time to smell the roses, and photograph them is not always easy, especially when you have a few minutes in the morning before work. I am a nature lover, so I always get up early to enjoy my morning time. I’ve been known to get distracted by the bumble bees when I’m having my morning coffee. Their buzzing is very busy and non-stop. But, the cardinal is busy too, hopping around in our tomato plants. I smiled when he finally flew to our Rose of Sharon tree, and then I hurried to captured his portrait.
The birds are not visiting as much when we are working, but the bees don’t care.
A busy backyard.
I digress, Time to stop and smell the roses.

As promised, our video from Mackinac Island on July the fourth. It was a very satisfying experience having lunch at the Grand Hotel. The view of the Straits of Mackinac was stunning from the highest point in the cupola, where we enjoyed a tropical cocktail. We always look forward to our next visit, satisfaction guaranteed! In the mean time, we have lots of photos to cherish and post later!
Do you have a favorite vacation memory?

I don’t have a bucket list, but if I did, this park would be on it.
I captured this stunning scenery at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore near Elmira, Michigan. Stationed atop in the sand, with camera in hand, looking over the edge of the dunes. The vastness of Lake Michigan, and the seemingly endless cliff of sand, made me feel very small. The sky was painted with beautiful clouds, but the wind was picking up speed. To our dismay, the sprinkles from a partly cloudy day quickly turned to a down pour. Ahhhh, Pure Michigan!

2016 was a very busy year for us. I worked at my day job, and attended classes for Event Planning, Design and Decor in the evenings. It was a fabulous experience. One evening, a guest speaker demonstrated her positive energy with a Powerpoint presentation, and shared this: Create an imagine/inspiration board to help achieve your goals. My take-away was, I need to get very organized in order to use my new skills in combination with graphic design.
This year I’ve photographed and posted my favorite subjects: boats and sunset reflections on the water, especially mirror images. My book of passwords has grown with more photos to post, and design competitions to enter. I find myself writing, yet another updated profile or an artist statement about my digital artwork, and what inspires me.
In 2017, I would like to build my portfolio with new digital art and experiment more with painting. My goal is to impart a consistent body of work. My focus will be to create graphics for special events, and design inspiring motifs/patterns for home goods, stationery, wall art and more.
So back to that revised profile.
About Tresa Meyer-Clark
Having a family who encourages my artistic abilities is a blessing. Growing up in Michigan and working as a graphic designer will always have the most influence on my artwork. I earned a Bachelor of Art degree in graphic design and ceramics. I am a student of life, and the nature around me is my muse. I also love turtle sundaes with raspberry sauce!
As another year has flown by! I look forward to reading your posts on WordPress, making the next new year even better! Feel free to share!

We visited The Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan twice in August. The first time was on a rainy day, and the second, in the evening for the sunset. I wanted to capture the vastness of the landscape in a photo. I felt very anxious about going down an enormous sand dune because I couldn’t see the pathway, only the edge. It was a crazy thought to venture all the way to the bottom. There were people there, at the bottom, on the shoreline. The edge was the main feature in all my photos, and the people were too far away to photograph with my iPhone.
