Inspiration Therapy

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Inspiration.”

Inspiration to create can come from where I feel balance. Balance in a color scheme I’m working on, or even in that feeling of accomplishment. Completing a challenging day at work, then returning home to receive a big hug from my husband where he meets me at the doorway, every day. And of course, the colors of the light, softly painted into an amazing summer sunset at the Northport Marina.

What inspires you?
Thanks for reading! YOU are awesome! Bye for now,

Anchor Your Happiness

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Symbol.”

Anchor

A customer of mine told me that anchors have a lot of meaning to her and that she was having some health issues. When I asked her to explain, she said, “an anchor is a symbol of strength and stability.” She inspired me to make more anchor jewelry and I wrote this.

Anchor your happiness, anchor your love.
Anchor your faith, hope and healing, from the stars up above.
From the heavens to the sea, anchor happiness,
Anchor your dreams.

Inspiration: Nature

June, 2015 I captured nature.

I once read, to claim “Nature” as your source for inspiration as a n artist is cliché. Many of us are drawn to nature, and especially the outdoors in summertime. I love June. I believe, the artistic expression through nature is a gift. Cliché is defined in the contemporary art world by an artist and digital media communications professional, Christopher Healey, who has extensive experience with online development, marketing and public relations. Here is a link to his post. “A glib list of the top 10 clichés in Contemporary Art right now.”

Connection Sensibility

Photography Class – Day Six

Connection: There are many ways to interpret this theme: from a gadget to a handshake, from a bridge to a gathering among friends. What’s yours?

Artistic Connection
I think most artists would express the word “connection” as stimuli they are bombarded with, making connections from one visual or idea to another. A sensibility or the ability to appreciate and respond to complex emotional or aesthetic influences.

Nature is incredibly amazing. The three druzy stones are my inspiration for the packaging graphics, a combination of the nautical and wedding concepts. I made the connection when adding the knotted cord to a photo shoot for my wedding jewelry packaging. Creating the cord as a graphic decorative element just seemed natural.

Thank you for reading and liking! YES liking and connecting here…

Just the Beginning

Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those that capture the heart.
– Ancient Indian Proverb

Starting something new is not always easy, like blogging, a new workout routine, drinking aloe with ginger in the morning, you get the picture. I am happy to say, I started working with new materials that will ensure that my jewelry is more durable than ever, and solve the problem of short-term vs long-term. It’s a time consuming and very detail oriented process to control a tiny knot between each bead or bead section. So, I’ll be sharing some tips in later posts about my process and the glamorous gemstones that captured my heart! — Off now to drink that aloe juice. ❤

Hungry for more? Awesome! Here is a link to my newly created Jewelry Design page. Your thoughts and comments are welcomed.

The Pursuit of Happiness

This is where I need to be right now, no looking back and no regrets. Only beautiful thoughts, blessings, images, and words will be my space to create in. Creating my way to the pursuit of happiness!
—Tresa

I am a jewelry designer and graphic artist. On this blog, I hope to explore and learn, make new friends, share my ideas, present my jewelry designs, write about my process, post photography of my boating rendezvous on the Great Lakes, and share artsy tips! If I can do all of this, and cook for my husband, then wow, what an accomplishment! (He’s a much better cook than me and made the heart mash potatoes) I’ll have to allow myself to make mistakes along the way, in this new creative journey, in the pursuit of happiness.
